This course covers advanced topics and recent advances in databases, namely object-relational, object-oriented, spatial, and temporal databases, data mining, on-line analytical processing, data warehousing. It also includes advanced topics in relational database management and related issues like the extensions of RDBMS, transaction management, concurrency control and query optimization
